Dominating the hills of Haut-Agenais, the bastide of Castillonnès was founded in 1259 by Alphone de Poitiers in conjunction with the Abbey of Cadouin. It hugs the rocky outcrop on which it is built, leaning against the old Castillon castle. Its structure presents a remarkable homogeneity and points of interest such as the "Perrier" castle, bridges, 18th century mansions, a church housing a Baroque altarpiece and a 20th century hall with a "troubadour" style pepper watchtower. .
